Aryna Sabalenka

Sabalenka was born in Minsk, the capital of Belarus. Sergey was a hockey player. Aryna Sabalenka was born in Minsk, Belarus on May 5th, 1998. Aryna is the holder of twelve WTA Singles titles, one of which was crowned "Grand Slam" at the Australian Open 2023. Doubles is an additional area in which she has a great record. In the US Open 2019, and Australian Open 2021, US Open 2019, and Australian Open 2021 were both won with Elise Mertens. She won two majors, in the WTA 1000 and Miami Open in Indian Wells with her Belgian partner, completing what is known as the Sunshine Double. The feat was made possible by four couples in the women's doubles. The Belarusian rose from second place to third in the singles world ranking on the 23rd of August in 2021. Her highest rank was achieved again in January 2023. Following her victory at the Melbourne doubles championship in February of 2021 it was possible to move up the rankings to take the first spot in this specific area. Her coach was the former Russian tennis player Dmitry Tursunov from 2018 until the end of the 2019 season and partly from the beginning of 2020. The pair also briefly worked with Dieter Kindlmann during the months of August through September of 2020. At the time of her retirement, she's been instructed by her coach, Antonio Dubrov. Her top idols include Serena Williams and Maria Sharapova.
